Story from the vigil:
Talking with my children
Abortion is a challenging topic to discuss with my four young children,
ages 12 and under. When the abortion clinic opened in McKinney in July, however, the conversations began. We have peacefully prayed outside of the clinic (next to the main road) several times now. We have knelt down and prayed a heart prayer and a decade of the rosary together, for the women, their families, the clinic workers, and the babies. We have made homemade signs which say, “We love you both” and “Keep your baby” and “Give moms a chance to love their babies.” We have talked about the overwhelming fear that women may feel when pregnant, amidst an array of unexpected circumstances, and the expectation from others that abortion is their ‘way out.’
Then we have talked about the women and men
that I have spoken with and cried with, who have been impacted by abortion, and the life-changing regret and guilt they have experienced at the loss of their babies. One woman emphatically said, “I would never, never, never do it again.” We also talk about God, whose mercy is endless and whose treasury of compassion is inexhaustible, who runs to meet us when we just turn back to Him.
My kids ask questions like what difference it makes to pray outside of an abortion clinic.
I tell them it matters. I tell them about post-abortive women I have met who said if there had been just one person praying outside the clinic that day or if just one person had told them not to do it, they would have had the courage to not have an abortion. I tell them, as I have been told, that nothing offered to God is ever wasted. He multiplies our efforts, and He alone changes hearts. So, we continue to kneel and pray outside the abortion clinic, for a few minutes at a time, for a change of heart for all involved.

Please continue to pray for
Kay and Alan Leonard
Please remember them in your prayers. They are both active members of our St Gabriel Pro-Life ministry. Kay is now home. Alan continues to be on a ventilator in very serious condition with Covid.
Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect.
